| Oh, that's good. CDX's mom told me last night they were still locking, even now. I was like....What?! that's strange. | |

| He must have felt he needed to give her an Easter present. They locked again yesterday! Just for a short time. She can't be still in heat from Jan. 4 until now.....come on. | |

| I posted this scenario on another forum and this is what one of the members there posted. I have her permission to cross post it. BigBrownEyes29 wrote: - Quote :
- Not sure if this is true but just something that I was told. That is not uncommon for a dog after their first heat, to have a few irregular heat cycles after. Example: If the dog is 7 months old and has her first heat cycle Jan. 4, let's say the first heat cycle lasts for 4 weeks. 3 to 4 weeks later the dog can go into heat again, it doesn't have to be 6 months after. I let my dog go through her first heat cycle before I had the vet spay her. I waited 6 weeks, booked the appointment on 8 weeks from first the day of heat cycle and the vet told me she was still in heat (just ending). Thank God he (the vet) didn't charge me extra for her being in heat during the spay procedure. It's possible the Pug was in heat, it ended and then started back a few weeks later with no visible signs.
So she has been in & out of heat all the long. The male will start sniffing around and liking her (my male will lick Vanda on her back, he will lick a bald, raw spot if you let him & Vanda will not stop him. He starts doing this about a week & a half to 2 weeks before I see blood.) He will also follow her around everywhere & doesn't want her out of his sight. Does Tyson do anything like this? | |

| No nothing like that! It's like they are running around the yard playing and chasing each other just like dogs normaly do then he mounts (she lets him) they lock and now it is just for only a minute where before they would lock for 5 minutes or more. There are no visible signs (of heat) and it will happen almost by accident. You never know when they will lock because it is so random. It didn't happen for a couple weeks then the next time it was two days in a row. Now it's almost 12 weeks since her heat. | |

| Some one else who responded, on the other forum, mentioned dogs mounting for dominance, like they do and accidentally locking. From what I hear this occasionally happens, although this does seem more often than one would expect. | |

| That would make some sense but does seem to happen too often if by accident. | |
